Plate and Tube Fiber Laser Cutter: Training for Technicians of a Mongolian Customer

On December 22, 2024, SENFENG engineer Yang Chen arrived in Mongolia to provide on-site support for a client who had purchased an SF3015HM sheet and tube laser cutting machine just a month earlier. This powerful 6kW fiber laser is designed to cut both metal sheets and tubes, making it a versatile addition to the client’s operations. Yang’s mission was to install and debug the equipment while providing comprehensive training for the client’s engineers on both operation and maintenance.

1. Efficient Installation Process

Upon arrival, Yang assisted the client in setting up the machine. After the factory cleared the space, Yang helped design the layout for the fiber laser cutter, water chiller, and other components based on the factory’s size and production needs. He leveled the machine bed and assisted with the installation of the bed frame, including components like the exchange platform and beam.

2. Machine Setup and Calibration

Over the next two days, Yang helped install the gas lines for nitrogen and oxygen, as well as the electrical and lubrication systems. Key components such as the cutting head, display screen, alarm system, water chiller, laser source, and servo control box were also installed.

Once the machine was fully assembled, Yang performed system checks and fine-tuned settings, including adjusting water flow and pressure levels. He also set up cutting parameters for the materials the client frequently processes, allowing easy access to these settings via the machine’s database for future jobs.

3. Engineer Training and Maintenance Guidance

Yang provided training for the client’s engineers on how to operate and maintain the machine. The training covered both sheet and tube cutting, selecting and maintaining cutting nozzles, setting cutting parameters, and performing routine maintenance on the machine’s components such as the water chiller, protective lenses, and bed.
