3kW Fiber Laser Cutter: Training for Technicians of an Argentinian Customer

On March 3, 2025, SENFENG’s after-sales engineer, Song Xujin, traveled to Argentina to provide on-site installation and training services for a local customer. The customer had purchased a SF3015N 3kW fiber laser cutting machine, an open-type, single-platform machine designed for cutting thin and medium-thickness metal sheets. This was the customer’s first time purchasing a SENFENG fiber laser cutting machine. As the engineer, Song’s goal for this on-site training was to help the customer with installation, operation training, software training, and daily maintenance, ensuring the machine could be put into production as quickly as possible. The after-sales service included installation, electrical system setup, debugging, and training.

Installation

At 6 a.m., Song arrived at the customer’s factory to begin the installation, which involved assembling the machine bed, display screen, laser source and other parts. During the process, the customer realized they lacked the appropriate terminal connectors to link the voltage stabilizer with the laser cutting machine. Song provided the specific model details, and the customer promptly procured the necessary components.

Electrical System Setup

The customer’s electrician followed the SF3015N circuit diagram provided by SENFENG to complete the electrical wiring. Once the setup was finished, Song used a multimeter to measure the voltage and then powered on the equipment for testing.

Debugging

Song conducted machine debugging, including checking the X, Y, and Z-axis limits, calibrating the laser path, adjusting focal position and verifying gas flow and pressure settings. After confirming the accuracy, he adjusted the machine’s basic parameters and installed the cutting software. To ensure smooth operation, Song pre-configured cutting parameters for 5mm and 20mm carbon steel, which were the most commonly processed materials at the customer’s factory. This setup allowed the customer to directly recall the settings without needing to reconfigure them manually.

Training

Based on the customer’s regular production materials and thicknesses, Song tailored a training program. The training covered:

1. Operation – Laser cutting machine operation, optical path adjustment, software functions, and drawing techniques.
2. Maintenance – Daily maintenance, protective lens replacement, water chiller upkeep, and anti-freezing measures.

After the theoretical session, the customer’s technical team practiced under Song’s guidance. He addressed any issues in real time, ensuring they mastered the essential operating skills.

Thanks to this hands-on installation and training, the customer quickly got the hang of their new SF3015N 3kW laser cutting machine, making their production smoother and more efficient with greater confidence.
