Fiber Laser Cutter: Technician Training for an Argentine Customer

On March 7, 2025, SENFENG dispatched after-sales engineer Song Xujin to Argentina to deliver on-site installation, training, and maintenance support for a key customer. This valued customer had previously purchased SENFENG’s SF3015G laser cutting machine and has been highly satisfied with its performance. They gave positive feedback on the machine’s stability, cutting precision, and SENFENG’s strong technical support.

At the beginning of this year, looking to boost production capacity, the customer invested in SENFENG’s latest SF3015N laser cutting machine. This new 3kW fiber laser, equipped with a single table, is specially designed for cutting medium and thin metal sheets. Song’s mission this time was to assist with the new machine’s installation, operator training, and also provide maintenance for the older SF3015G.

SF3015N Installation, Commissioning & Training

Installation

Upon arriving at the factory, Song worked closely with the customer using SENFENG’s foundation drawings to position each unit correctly. He then moved on to the installation process, including leveling the machine bed, setting up the chiller, air compressor, laser source, guide rails, and racks. During the installation of the gas pipeline system, Song noticed a mismatch in the gauge interface specification and advised the customer to replace it before proceeding.

Thanks to Song’s efficient guidance, the full installation was completed within a single day.

Commissioning

Once the power was connected, Song performed a power-on test to ensure all systems were functioning properly. He then carried out the full commissioning of the CNC fiber laser cutting machine. Song fine-tuned cutting parameters for all types of sheet materials the customer typically processes, categorized by material and thickness. This setup will allow the customer to simply select the preset parameters in the future without needing to reconfigure them.

The customer mentioned they occasionally cut carbon steel sheets up to 16mm and 19mm thick. Song optimized the cutting parameters for these thicknesses and reminded the customer that 19mm is close to the machine’s maximum limit and should only be used for small-batch cutting, not full-sheet production.

Training

Since the customer’s team had already received training on the SF3015G, Song’s main goal this time was to troubleshoot and help them strengthen their skills. He provided hands-on guidance on machine operation and software features, addressing common issues faced during daily production and helping the team gain more confidence in using the equipment.

SF3015G Maintenance

In addition to installing the new machine, Song also carried out a maintenance check on the customer’s existing SF3015G. During inspection, he noticed that the machine was positioned slightly too far back, making crane loading less convenient. He helped the customer move the machine forward by one meter to improve workflow.

Song also found that some of the water pipe connectors had aged and were leaking, so he replaced them on the spot. To wrap things up, he fine-tuned the SF3015G’s cutting parameters based on the customer’s recent production feedback, further optimizing the machine’s performance.
