6kW Fiber Laser Cutter: Training for an Australian Customer

On February 27, 2025, SENFENG’s after-sales engineer Han Jingshi traveled to Australia to provide on-site installation and training services for one of our VIP customers. The customer had purchased one SF3015HC 6kW fiber laser cutting machine and two SF1500HW handheld laser welding machines.

The SENFENG SF3015HC is a fully enclosed 6kW sheet metal laser cutting machine equipped with an exchange platform, while the SF1500HW is a 1.5kW handheld laser welding machine. As an experienced and highly professional engineer, Han’s mission was to ensure smooth installation and to train the customer’s technical staff on proper operation and maintenance.

Installation

Before Han’s arrival, the customer had already made thorough preparations based on prior communication, including site readiness, installation tools, and power supply. Considering the layout of the customer’s factory and production flow, SENFENG provided a tailored installation plan, positioning the voltage stabilizer and laser source behind the machine bed, while placing the chiller outside.

Once on-site, Han worked closely with the customer to install the fiber laser cutting machine. This included assembling and leveling the machine bed, installing the platform frame, chains, cutting head, display screen, laser source, chiller and other units.

Commissioning

After completing the electrical and gas connections, Han powered up the machine and performed a series of tests to ensure all units were functioning perfectly, including alarm resets, laser output tests, and gas system checks. Afterward, he completed the installation by fitting the remaining sheet metal covers.

Training

Besides processing carbon steel and stainless steel, the customer also required aluminum cutting and air-assisted cutting using an air compressor. Han tailored the training to the customer’s needs, covering machine operation, software functions, daily maintenance, and long-term upkeep. To make production smoother, he pre-set cutting parameters for aluminum sheets in 2, 3, 4, 6, and 10mm thicknesses.

Since aluminum is a highly reflective material, Han emphasized safety guidelines and explained the potential long-term impact on the laser source. He also provided hands-on training for air-assisted cutting. The training was hands-on and professional, giving the customer’s team the skills to handle both operation and maintenance independently.

Installation & Commissioning

Once the 6kW fiber laser was up and running, Han moved on to install and commission two SF1500HW handheld laser welding machines, handling power-up tests and system setup.

Training

Thanks to the user-friendly system of the laser welding machine, the customer’s technicians quickly grasped the basic operating procedures and maintenance routines under Han’s guidance. Han also took extra time to answer specific questions and provided practical tips to ensure smooth production.
